American Psychological Association (APA)- Global Psychology Alliance:

Caribbean Alliance of National Psychological Associations (CANPA):

  • The Jamaican Psychological Society hosted the Caribbean Regional Conference of Psychology in Kingston, Jamaica in 2018.
  • JamPsych members remain involved in CANPA leadership:  Dr. Margarett Barnett (CANPA IPP), Dr. Ishtar Govia (CANPA Vice President), Dr. Kai Morgan (CANPA Co-Chair of Professional Practice & Standards) and Djavila Ho (President & Elders Committee)

Jamaica Association for the Deaf (JAD):

  • MOU includes course on Jamaican Sign Language & Deaf Culture Level One to mental health practitioners. The aim of this programme was to support full communication &  access to social services for the Deaf community, by equipping psychologists with basic JSL.
  • Of the fourteen (14) persons enrolled in the course, 57% were successful.

Ministry of Health & Wellness & Ministry Of Education & Youth: Mental Wellness NOW:

  • JamPsych members participated in this mental health awareness initiative delivering presentations on stress and coping in schools across the island.
  • MOHW Holistic Wellness-Mental: Watch Video Here

U-Matter Chatline Steering Committee:

  • JamPsych executive members sit on this steering committee.
  • JamPsych support offered through issuing calls for volunteer counsellors to support the chatline. 

Meta Transitions: Jamaica Series

  • This six-episode series, developed and hosted by JamPsych member Tricia-Kay Williams M.A., RCC, and CEO of Metamorphose Counselling and Consultation Ltd, focuses on mental health in Jamaica and highlights stories shared by Jamaican psychologists.
